This week I have had busy week from attending Wiltshire Council meetings, in my capacity as the Wiltshire Councillor for Cepen Park and Derriads to representing your views and pushing for change following your feedback sent to my via email and via my residents survey!
On Monday, I was fortunate to have been invited to the Royal Wootton Bassett Auction House opening. Afterwards I attended a meeting with portfolio and cabinet members at County Hall in Trowbridge, at which I took the opportunity to speak to the Cabinet Member for Leisure regarding the state of Lime Kiln leisure centre. Later in the day I took to opportunity to deliver more of my update leaflets to residents in Calne.
On Tuesday, I spent the day visiting Lyneham and Bradenstoke meeting local residents while delivering more of my update leaflet.
On Wednesday, I attended the Wessex Regional Flood and Coastal Committee (RFCC) as the Wiltshire Council appointed representative as the Portfolio Holder for Flooding and later attended the Wiltshire Councillors budget meeting, seeing how this council is balancing the books and buckling the trend of other local authorities going into financial difficulties.
On Thursday I took the day visiting Broad Hinton, Broad Town and Royal Wootton Bassett, delivering my update leaflet and meeting more local people listening to your voice to help make a difference in our wonderful constituency and in the evening I attended a Rotaract meeting. Rotaract clubs bring together people ages 18 and older to exchange ideas with leaders in the community, develop leadership and professional skills, and have fun through service.
On Friday I had the pleasure of meeting up with our enthusiastic candidate for the Calne Chilvester and Abberd By-Election finding out his plans to make a difference and continue the legacy of Cllr Tony Trotman. I also took the opportunity to visit Wiltshire's largest careers fair hosted by Michelle Donelan MP and Danny Kruger MP.
On Saturday, I spent the day in Corsham with a team of supporters and local residents to deliver my update leaflet and find out what you would like to change.
As always please do not hesitate to get in touch with me if you have any questions, queries or any issues I can help with at [email protected].
