It is imperative that we encourage students to follow their education path of choice at post 16. Going to University is not the only path to a great career. I will champion hands on apprenticeships through cooperation between enterprises and local schools and training providers. Non-academic achievement must be recognised and valued. On the job learning and skills training is crucial to employers and to growing our economy.
